I thought I had stunted the poor girl, because she spends most of her time in her bed, so i'm trying to be better at giving her more floor time. I was amazed at how much she's moving!

(No, Tucker is not in the background jumping on the chair, my children don't stand on furniture.)

Frames!

I've told a few people about this cool frames website, and thought it was time I blogged about it. So I had these pictures taken of the kids when Tucker turned 2 and Nora Jane was a month old. I knew I could just send them to Costco or someplace to be printed, but the hard part for me, is finding the frames I like...so I just end up with pictures all over, not in frames.

I found this website, http://www.framesbymail.com/. It allows you to costum create the size of frame you want. But the really cool part (besides the prices) is you can upload your own digital proof of a picture (in whatever size you want) and then it puts the mat and frame around it, so you can see exactly how it will look on your picture. You can either have them mail all the pieces to you, and you put it together, or you can have them assemble and mail them to you. They even print the picture for you, and put it into the assembled frame. They've just added a new feature, you can customize mats and they will cut them and mail them to you.

Boating at Sand Hollow

This weekend we went to St. George to visit our friends the Hills. We went boating on Sand Hollow Resevoir for two days, and then just hung out the next day cause it was really cold. I drove the boat, pulling Daniel on the wakeboard for the first time...and I was successful!! I may be useful on this boat yet. We got to go to Hailey's (the Hills 4-year-old daughter) soccer game, which was lots of fun for Tucker to see. He kicked the soccer ball on the sidelines the whole time, probably thinks he was actually playing the game. We also got to do some shopping, and eat out lots. It was tons of fun!!! Thanks Hills!

Tucker's 1st Wakeboard!

Daniel came home and mentioned that he picked up a Tucker-sized wakeboard today. Tucker overheard, and wanted to see it immediately! Daniel left to run and errand, and Tucker cried for a good 20 minutes, cause he wanted his wakeboard. I told him he'd have to wait till Dada came home. As soon as Daniel walked in the door, Tucker ran up the stairs and grabbed his hand and asked him to go get his wakeboard. So we took him outside, and pulled it out. Kid looks like he knows what he's doing.....ready to jump some wakes!

de ja vu

So Nora Jane had hives this last week. I've been giving her formula, once or twice a day, for a week, and then she broke out into hives on Monday. They were just on her face, and then went away. Then Monday night, they were all over her body, then went away. Then Tuesday, we were out shopping, and I gave her a bottle of formula, and she got some just on her face again. By the time we got home, she had them all over..and she was wheezing, which scared me. So we headed to the doctor's office. My pediatrician wasn't in, so we had to see the PA, which I won't be doing again. I've seen him once or twice before with Tucker, and just wasn't so fond of him. He asked why I was giving him formula, and I explained I was going to stop nursing, because she was almost 6 months, and we had an upcoming trip that we were going to leave the kids at home for. His response was, "Well do you have to go on this trip? I mean, I guess I'm just bias because we always took our kids with us on our vacations. So, do you really need to leave him at home?" (not typos, he really did refer to Nora Jane as a boy...until I corrected him, 3 times!)

I realize everyone has different opinions about nursing and how long. Nora Jane has been easier and more enjoyable to nurse than Tucker, but I still feel like 6 months is long enough. My Doctor has never given me her opinion about it, but has never made me feel like I was less of a mom for only doing 6 months either. I can't believe this man really said this to me. All I can think is maybe he really wanted his kids on every trip with them, but do you think its possible his wife could have used a break now and then?

The PA went to get me another kind of formula, even though he didn't think that was it. I apparently wasn't so good at hiding my annoyance, because when he came back in Tucker covered his ears and started yelling, "Stop talking!" over and over. I finally asked if I could give her something for relief, and he went to get us medication. Then I asked if he was all concerned with her temp of 100.2 that the nurse took (and wrote on the form) when we got there. He then started thinking it could be some viral thing. But sent us on our way anyway. He called me at home about an hour later, and apologized for not having his nurse come in to give her medication while we were there, to check to see how she was, and tell me that if anything else happened, to take her to the hospital. He has since called me 2 more times to see how she's doing. Apparently he got the drift of me being really annoyed with him. She of course has been fine.


This same thing happened to Tucker when he was about 7 months old (without the wheezing). Nothing came of it...no allergies or anything. Oh well!

Two kids teething...

...And I didn't even know it. You'd think I'd be pulling my hair out, but no...I had no idea they were both teething, 'till I actually saw the teeth. Well okay, Tucker had bad diaper rash/sores for a couple of days, before I realized it was teeth, and not all the snacks he eats throughout the day. I was trying to get him to soak in the tub, to help him feel better, and instead he stood and cried for like 20 minutes straight. While he was crying, his mouth was wide open, and there were his two-year-old molers!

He's always asking for juice, and given his current situation, I was really trying to avoid giving him any. So, since he loves his pediatrician, I thought if it came from her, he'd reason through it. So I said, "Dr. Owens says you should only have a little bit of juice and that's it." Then I tried offering him a banana, to distract him, and he got really upset and said, "Dr. Owens says NO BANANAS!" I thought it was so funny I called his dad to tell him, and now Tucker says it, just to get a laugh out of people.

Nora Jane, just suddenly had some white show up on her gums...and yep its a tooth. So first tooth at like 5 and 1/2 months. Good thing I was about to be done nursing...she's starting formula this week!

I know, my children really spoil me!

Utah State Fair

Our Boat

We bought a boat this summer, and I'm finally just getting around to taking pictures of it. We're looking forward to making lots of fun family memories on the boat...and hopefully next year Nora Jane can join the fun. She's actually been on it twice, but those life jackets just aren't so enjoyable for her.
