Tucker's first trip to the Dentist!

Tucker came to the dentist with me today, to watch me get my teeth cleaned. Then he got to sit in the chair, and they counted his teeth, and cleaned them. He was such a good boy, he sat still and opened his mouth big. He loved the water that they sprayed in his mouth...they did it lots and lots for him. They said everything looked good, and his two front teeth should move back in place in about 6 months...now that the pacifier is gone.

Tucker caught a football....

Last night I had to go put Tucker back in his bed after I'd put him to bed like an hour before. As I was leaving his room, I had turned off the light and he said, "Hey Mom!" "What?" I said (slightly bugged, cause I figured he was trying to come up with something to delay bedtime further). "One time I caught the football, and it broked my leg". He has said this several times over the last couple of weeks, and mostly he tells this to his Aunt Michelle for whatever reason. Apparently while we were in Hawaii, one of the babysitters, Walter, was watching an NFL game with Tucker and someone caught the football, and when they landed broke their leg and it was pretty bad, and they had to cut to commercial. For some reason he just can't let it go, and has also changed the story to be his own experiance. Funny kid!

No More Paba!

Tucker's last two pabas (pacifiers) left us sadly yesterday in a very gruesome way. Both had been ripped a little on the sides for awhile now. Yesterday they were both decapitated by their owner at seperate times...even with lots of warnings from me that that's what would happen. I had to brace myself for what would happen at bedtime. I'll be the first to admit I was just as attached to the pabas as Tucker. I decided I'd be nice and lay in bed with him for a little bit, to lessen the blow. After saying prayers...and asking Heavenly Father to make Tucker happy even though he was so sad to lose his paba...which he got upset with me for saying...we snuggled up in his bed. I was only there a few minutes when he said, "get out of my bed." So I did, and then he asked me to come back and give him a hug and a kiss..which I did, and then left the room. He then started crying for his paba...and that lasted about 15 minutes and then he was asleep. That was nothing compared to the last month of trying to keep this kid in his room to go to sleep at nights...lots of tantrums and kicking of his door. So we did survive, and now maybe his front teeth can move back into proper position. :)

Merry Christmas Steve!

I was preparing Tucker for the festivities of the day, and explaining that it was Christmas Eve, and he said, "Christmas Steve?" I tried to correct him but was laughing too hard, so all day he said "Merry Christmas Steve!" to everyone. What a silly kid!!

Here's Tucker and Nora Jane with their cousin Jameson, all in their Norwegian Sweaters for Christmas Eve!
Here's the whole family in their Norwegian sweaters.

One of the traditions with Daniel's family on Christmas eve, is to play a game while we eat our pudding. A nut is placed in one pudding, per table. We all pass the puddings around the table while singing Jingle Bells. You stop and eat the pudding that ended up in front of you, and if you find the nut in yours, you get a prize. (usually a large chocolate candy bar.) Tucker one at his table this year. Typically you have to show the nut to get the prize, but we didn't realize Tucker had it, till he started crunching it.
This was at about 11:00pm, trying to get home and put the kids to bed (so I could finish putting toys together!) Just hanging out with the family. The kids were surprisingly delightful!

Hawaii!

We went to Hawaii for 5 days just before Christmas....no kids!!!  They stayed home and were watched by several different people who all loved and cared for them...i had no worries.  It was soooo nice and relaxing.  We went because Daniel's sister, Michelle, plays basketball for Westminster College, and they played in a tournament there.  Nice excuse to go.  It was mine and Daniel's first time going to Hawaii.

USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor.
The Hawaiian Temple...amazing!

Here we are at the Luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center, awesome food, and so pretty!
Here's one of the many boats in the parade...lots of dancing in Hawaii!

Here we are at Benihana's the first night.  Most of us had never been before, it was pretty fun.

Grandpa Langeland's 90th Birthday

On December 15th we celebrated Grandpa Langeland's 90th Birthday.  All his children, and most all his grandchildren were there.  We had a nice dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and then watched a slide show of pictures of his life.  It was really neat to spend that day with him.

Nora Jane's Little Pink Dress

The day I had my ultrasound, and found out I was having a girl, I had Daniel take me right to the mall to buy something pink. Its crazy to think that was a year ago, and now here's my little Nora Jane, wearing the cute pink dress. She was posing so cute, I just kept snapping pictures. I couldn't pick just one to post.

Tucker & Nora Jane with Santa

Last Thursday we went to our Ward Party, and they had Santa there for the kids. Tucker very matter-of-factly climbed right up on Santa's lap and asked him for a "black car, like mamas". (About a month ago, we were at Costco, and he saw the Power Wheels Escalade, and "needed it!". I told him he just had to remember all the things he saw in the stores from now until Christmas, and ask Santa Claus for them. We haven't talked about it since, but when he saw Santa, he knew exactly what to do.)
